Funding for your borough
We provide funding to boroughs and local communities for transport improvements in your local area.
Local Implementation Plan (LIP)
The LIP is produced by the London Borough of Redbridge and agreed with us. It sets out the details on transport infrastructure changes in a three-year period to support the Mayor's Transport Strategy.
As part of our recent funding settlement, we have allocated a total of £23.1m for LIP Corridor funding across London for the period of 31 October 2020 to 31 March 2021. The amount apportioned to your borough is outlined in the latest LIP allocation letter below.
LIP targets for Redbridge
Each borough has set targets in their LIP against the Mayor's Transport Strategy outcomes - we track and report on progress against these targets in the LIP3 MTS outcomes borough data pack.
For example, the car ownership in the borough was 109,539 in 2017. The LIP target to reduce car ownership by 2021 is 104,200.

- Car and motorcycle: 52%

- National Rail and London Overground: 3%

- Taxi/Other: 1%

We also work with boroughs to encourage more cycling. We recorded 3,458 daily cycle trips on average starting in Redbridge between 2015 and 2018.
More resident and visitor population figures are on the GLA website.
Vision Zero
We are working with boroughs to reduce the number of deaths and serious injuries from all road collisions to zero by 2041. They are responsible for enforcing safe speeds on their roads, as well as leading community programmes to encourage using roads safely. Find out more about Vision Zero.
In 2017 there were 81 individuals killed or seriously injured in Redbridge. Our target for 2022 is to reduce this number to 56.
Find out more about collisions in your borough.
Our collision database, COLLSTATS, is now available as a self-service tool for borough officers and the Metropolitan Police. It allows site specific, borough or London wide collision searches to be made to the most recent validated police data that is available. For access to this database please email CollstatsHelpdesk@tfl.gov.uk.

Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)
From 25 October 2021, the central London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is expanding to create a single, larger zone up to the North Circular Road (A406) and South Circular Road (A205). This is part of the commitment by the Mayor and ourselves to help every Londoner breathe cleaner air.
Four out of five cars already meet the ULEZ emissions standards, but we need owners of the remaining polluting cars, motorcycles, lighter vans and minibuses to take action by checking their vehicle.
