Best buggies for public transport

If you're making a decision on the type of buggy to buy for use on our network, we recommend you consider these things:

Size

Choose a buggy that's small and compact - both when standing and folded. It will need to be small enough to pass through our buses easily, and to share the wheelchair priority space with wheelchair users, other buggies, trollies, mobility aids or assistance dogs, and to fit into our lifts in stations.

Foldability

Space is sometimes limited on our services, so try to buy a buggy that's easy to fold.

Weight, comfort and manoeuvrability

If you're using a buggy on our services, you might need to go up and down steps and lift buggies on to trains - so the buggy you buy should be lightweight. You should also make sure the buggy is safe and has good balance, suspension and manoeuvrability.
