Procurement Act 2023

Guidance and information about the Act is on GOV.UK.

Main changes that will affect suppliers

The Central Digital Platform

Under the Procurement Act 2023, the Central Digital Platform will provide a single platform for suppliers to register the business details we and other public sector bodies typically ask for. This is with the aim of reducing duplication and resources used to tender. Suppliers must ensure that their details are up to date.

We expect the Central Digital Platform to be an additional website where notices are published. We'll update this page when we get more information on the Platform.

Notices

Our pipeline will be made available via the Government's Find a Tender Service (FTS), as well as the TfL website. The new preliminary market engagement notice will tell suppliers that an engagement is scheduled to happen or has already been done.

Competitive tendering processes

Tendering processes have been reduced to 3 procedures: direct award, open procedure and competitive flexible procedure.

The new competitive flexible procedure will allow us to design procurement processes that best fit the requirements of the tender, while addressing barriers to tendering for SMEs.
