Heritage advice

What we do

We advise on works and necessary planning authority consents for a wide range of heritage assets which are owned or managed by us including:

  • Thames bridges
  • Surface projects such as restoration of street furniture, public realm schemes in historic areas such as Strand/Aldwych and renewal of historic buildings such as Victoria Coach Station
  • Commercial development - Changes to retail properties and the development of under-utilised sites such as station car parks
  • London Overground and Elizabeth line heritage stations and other structures
  • More than 150 Tube stations that have some form of heritage protection

Our Heritage Advisor gives expert advice to transport projects that affect heritage assets and environments, especially if they need planning permission or negotiation with the city, borough or district councils and Historic England.
