Penalty charges

Operators of lorries over 12 tonnes gross vehicle weight (GVW) must obtain a permit for a vehicle before they operate it within the area.

You may be issued with a PCN if you drive an HGV over 12 tonnes GVW without a valid safety permit.

You may receive separate PCNs for each day that you drive within Greater London. PCNs can be issued to both UK and non-UK registered vehicles.

Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs)

Penalty charge £550, if paid within 14 days £275

If you pay within 14 days of service, the penalty charge will be discounted by 50%.

Please do not ignore a PCN.

What if I don't pay it?

If you don't pay your PCN or make a representation within 28 calendar days, it will increase to £825.
