Route 491 re-route - 26 November 2022

Route Affected: 491

From Saturday 26 November we will be making some changes to route 491.

After leaving the first bus stop at North Middlesex Hospital heading towards Waltham Cross buses will be re-routed via Bull Lane and a private bus & ambulance only road through the hospital grounds to join Sterling Way at the exit by the Maternity Car Park. 

Route 491 will no longer serve bus stops W (named Bull Lane / North Middlesex Hospital) and X (named Hawthorn Road) on Bridport Road or bus stop P (named Somerset Road / North Middlesex Hospital) on Gloucester Road. Passengers from these stops should board route 491 buses from bus stop S outside the main entrance to North Middlesex Hospital or take a route 444 bus and change at Silver Street Station.

There is no change to the route of 491 buses travelling towards North Middlesex Hospital.

The new route should reduce journey times by 2-3 minutes for passengers travelling from North Middlesex Hospital and also improve reliability by removing 491 buses from the tight side roads that can get congested with traffic.

A new timetable will be in place on route 491 with buses continuing to run every 20 minutes from first to last bus on Monday to Fridays and during the daytime on Saturdays and every 30 minutes during the evenings on Saturdays and all day on Sundays.

Route A10 additional early morning journeys - 3 December 2022

Route Affected: A10

Route A10 will have new early morning journeys introduced from Saturday 3 December 2022 with first buses starting an hour earlier.

New journeys will depart from Uxbridge towards Heathrow Airport Central Bus Station on Monday to Saturdays at 0330, 0350 and 0410 and on Sundays at 0330 and 0400.

New journeys will depart from Heathrow Airport Central Bus Station towards Uxbridge on Monday to Fridays at 0405, 0425 and 0445, Saturdays at 0407, 0427 and 0447 and on Sundays at 0410 and 0440.

Route A10 will continue to run every 20 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 30 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

The following timetable changes will take place from Saturday 19 November.

Route 76 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 507 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 521 will have a new timetable on Monday to Fridays with minor changes to times.

Saturday 12 November

The following timetable changes will take place from Saturday 12 November.

Route 92 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. Buses will also be permanently routed via Berkeley Avenue and Greenford Road from this date. This is following the borough closing access from Oldfield Lane North to Greenford Road to buses for a cycle lane to be built. Buses will serve new stops on Berkeley Avenue outside the Ferrero UK offices and on Greenford Road near Greenford Service Station.

 

Saturday 19 November

The following timetable changes will take place from Saturday 19 November.

Route 76 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 144 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 444 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels particularly in the Edmonton area.

 

Route 491 reroute - 26 November 2022

From Saturday 26 November we will be making some changes to route 491.

Route 3 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route N3 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with journey times revised to better reflect current traffic levels.

Route 639 will have a new timetable. The PM journey from St John Bosco College will be retimed to depart at 1540 on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays and at 1450 on Wednesdays & Fridays. No change to the AM journey.

Route 670 will have a new timetable. The PM journey from St John Bosco College will be retimed to depart at 1540 on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays and at 1450 on Wednesdays & Fridays. No change to the AM journey.

 

Saturday 26 November

The following timetable changes will take place from Saturday 26 November.

Route 663 will have a new timetable. The PM journey from Harris Academy Purley will be retimed to depart at 1510 and run 6 minutes earlier throughout. No change to the AM journey.
 

Saturday 3 December

The following timetable changes will take place from Saturday 3 December.

Route 80 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 93 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 151 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 154 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with changes to departure times. The journeys at 0100 and 0200 from West Croydon Bus Station to Sutton Green are withdrawn on all days.

Route 163 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 164 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 213 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 219 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 470 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. Route 470 will be operated by Go Ahead London from this date.

 

No other permanent changes are currently planned in this area.

Saturday 12 November

The following timetable changes will take place from Saturday 12 November.

Route 92 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times. Buses will also be permanently routed via Berkeley Avenue and Greenford Road from this date. Route 671 will have a new timetable. The PM journey from Tiffin Girls School will be retimed to depart at 1525 and run 10 minutes later throughout. No change to the AM journey.

Route 266 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route N266 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 216 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 297 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 331 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 411 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Long Term Diversions

Routes Affected: 8, 11, 19, 25, 26, 38, 55, 60, 109, 119, 133, 166, 222, 292, 312, 350, 360, 405, 407, 412, 433, 452, 466, 468, 521, 698, N8, N11, N19, N25, N26, N38, N41, N55, N68, N109, N133, N242, N250, N551, U1, U3 and U5.

Due to road layout changes at Kensal Rise Station by the local borough, route 452 is suspended between Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's and Kensal Rise Station until further notice. Passengers should use route 52 between Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's and Kensal Rise Station. Route 452 continues to run as normal between Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's and Vauxhall Bus Station every 10 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and every 12 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Due to the collapse of the carriageway on Station Approach at West Drayton Station buses are unable to serve the bus stops directly outside the northern entrance to West Drayton Station. For bus routes 222, 350, 698, U3 and U5 passengers should use bus stops H for southbound buses and stop G for northbound buses (both named Ferrers Road) on Station Road which is a short walk from the Warwick Road entrance to West Drayton station. Route U1 will set down at bus stop C and pick up from bus stop D on Horton Road. These arrangements will continue until the works to rectify the issues with the carriageway have been resolved.

The westbound contraflow bus lane on Bloomsbury Way is currently closed with routes 19, 38, 55, N19, N38, N41 and N55 diverting via Procter Street and High Holborn to New Oxford Street. Bus stops B (Bloomsbury Square) and C (Museum Street) are closed please use bus stop Q, on High Holborn, or bus stop R on New Oxford Street instead. The contraflow bus lane is due to reopen in mid-December.

Due to roadworks closing bus stops on Capitol Way in Colindale buses on route 292 are currently terminating at bus stop CX, named Carlisle Road, on Edgware Road. Towards Borehamwood buses on route 292 are currently starting at the temporary bus stop on Capitol Way located opposite the car park exit to Asda.

Threadneedle Street is closed until further notice eastbound only with routes 8, 11, 26, N8, N11, N26 and N242 diverting between Bank and Liverpool Street via Lombard Street, King William Street, Gracechurch Street and Bishopsgate . Routes 133 and N133 are diverting in both directions between Monument and Liverpool Street Bus Station via Gracechurch Street, Bishopsgate and Wormwood Street. Route N551 towards Trafalgar Square is diverting from Camomile Street via Bishopsgate and Threadneedle Street to Bank and towards Gallions Reach buses from Bank Station via Princes Street, Moorgate, South Place, Eldon Street and Blomfield Street to London Wall.

Park Street in Croydon is closed eastbound until further notice with routes 60, 109, 433, 455, 468, N68, N109 and N250 towards West or East Croydon diverting via Katharine Street and Park Lane. Buses are not serving stop KE on Park Street and using stop KC on Park Lane instead.

Katharine Street in Croydon is part closed westbound until further notice with routes 60, 119, 166, 312, 405, 407, 412, 455, 466, 468 and N68 are diverting via Fell Road, Park Lane Roundabout and Edridge Road.

Due to temporary road layout changes at the junction of Chelsea Bridge Road and Grosvenor Road for a cycle scheme buses towards Royal Albert Hall on route 360 are now turning directly from Grosvenor Road into Chelsea Bridge Road and not serving Chelsea Embankment or Bull Ring Gate. The revised route will be in place until October 2023. There is no change to the route of buses travelling towards Elephant & Castle.

Angel Street in the St Paul's area of City of London is now closed until spring 2025 to allow building works to take place. Buses travelling eastbound towards Bank on routes 8, 25, N8, N25 and N242 or towards Cannon Street on route 521 are diverting from King Edward Street via Little Britain, Montague Street and Aldersgate Street to St Martins-le-Grand. Buses are serving all stops on this diversionary route.
