Incomplete fares

You asked

Under the Freedom of Information Act can I ask for the following information: Over the last four years how many maximum fares (Zones 1-9) have recorded? Can I have the amount that raised for TfL over the last four years? Can I have that data broken down by year. Do you have an estimate on how much of point 2 is down to incomplete journeys? If so, can I have that data broken down from the last four years? I would like all this data by calendar years please.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9 January 2017 asking for information about maximum fares.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

 

Please note that an incomplete journey will normally incur a maximum Zone 1-6 fare, not a 1-9 fare. The information you have requested both for Oyster and contactess cards can be found on our website at the following links:

Note that information on Incomplete journeys is contained both within the spreadsheets labelled as such, but also within the sheets relating to “pay-as-you-go” journeys.
