Cycles on public transport
Folded cycles
You can take folded cycles anywhere, at any time on all our transport services. However, on buses the driver can decide not to let you travel if it's too busy.
Electric scooters - folded or not - are not allowed.
Non-folded cycles
You can take non-folded cycles on some services at specific times.
Tube
On the lines listed below only:
- Allowed Monday to Friday before 07:30, between 09:30 and 16:00, and after 19:00
- Allowed anytime on weekends and bank holidays

- Allowed anytime on weekends and bank holidays
You can also take non-folded cycles on trains:
- Leaving Liverpool Street station going towards Chingford, Enfield Town or Cheshunt, between 07:30 and 09:30
- Arriving at Liverpool Street station from Chingford, Enfield Town or Cheshunt, between 16:00 and 19:00
Elizabeth line
Non-folded cycles are allowed Monday to Friday on trains:
- Arriving at Liverpool Street (from the direction of Shenfield) before 07:30 and after 09:30
- Leaving Liverpool Street (towards Shenfield) before 16:00 and after 19:00
- Arriving at Paddington (from the west) before 07:30 and after 09:30
- Leaving Paddington (towards the west) before 16:00 and after 19:00
- Between Paddington and Abbey Wood before 07:30, 09:30-16:00 and after 19:00
Weekends and bank holidays: Anytime
You cannot change to the Tube with non-folded cycles at some Elizabeth line stations:
- Tottenham Court Road for the Central or Northern lines
- Bond Street for the Jubilee line
- Paddington for the Bakerloo line
- Liverpool Street for the Central and Northern lines
- Stratford for the Central line
DLR
- Allowed Monday to Friday before 07:30, between 09:30 and 16:00, and after 19:00
- Allowed anytime on weekends and bank holidays
- Only folded cycles can be taken on DLR services to/from Bank station (at any time)

Bus and tram
Non-folded cycles cannot be taken on buses and trams.
River
Most river services allow non-folded cycles but you should check with them before you travel.
IFS Cloud Cable Car
You can take a non-folded cycle at any time.
Coaches
You need to check with the coach company to see if you can take a non-folded cycle.
