Step Free Access update

Request ID: FOI-4016-2324
Date published: 23 February 2024

You asked

F/O from 0815-2324 Good morning TfL, Many thanks for your detailed response to my enquiry back in July - really appreciate it! Now just about 6 months later in Feb 2024, I just wanted to request you if you can kindly update me on the progress of these 18 stations of the Tube Map in gaining Step-free access and what is their current status as of February 2024 please? In addition to these 18 stations that appear on the Tube Map, TfL's page on Step-free access (https://tfl.gov.uk/travel-information/improvements-and-projects/step-free-access) lists some more London Overground stations that are in the process of gaining Step-free access which I haven't noticed as being included in the Network Rail's 'Access for All' scheme in my previous list - such as Brondesbury & Surrey Quays, so can you kindly confirm to me if there are any more London Overground (& perhaps Thameslink) stations within the London Tube map of TfL (i.e. any more Tube Map stations) that are getting Step-free access in the near future apart from the 18 I mentioned previously, and when could Bermondsey & Surrey Quays gain Step-free access as of now? Finally, could you also just update & let us know the current status of the 2 Tube stations - Knightsbridge & Paddington (Bakerloo Line) towards getting Step-free access and when may they become publicly functional?

TfL Ref: 4016-2324

Thank you for your follow on request from 0815-2324 request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4 February 2024 asking for updated information about Step Free Access (SFA).

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Please see the table below which details the updated status of the Step Free Access (SFA) schemes at each station along with some links as to where you can find updated information for non-TfL stations. Finsbury Park has been removed from the list as step-free access works at that station were confirmed as being completed as per our previous reply. Brondesbury was included on the previous list. Surrey Quays has been added to the list. No other stations need to be added to the list based on those appearing on the tube map. Updates are shown in bold type.
