Thank you for your request received by Transport for London on 4th March 2020 asking for information about the charging of electric buses.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

“Does TfL use diesel generators to help charge any of its electric bus fleet? If so, I would like to know how often this has happened and when”.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require. All of our pure-electric buses are plugged in and do not entail the use of diesel generators.
