Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 26 February 2023 asking for information about our Piccadilly line trains.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. The working timetables published on the TFL website include most of the information you have requested – please see the following link to these documents on our website: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/working-timetables. The working timetables include train intervals at different locations and times, along with the total number of trains scheduled to be in service. Specifically please see pages 4 and 5 of the Piccadilly timetable for the information you have asked about.
Please also see the attached Excel file which gives the percentage of Service Operated by day for the Piccadilly line. This compares the actual number of train trips versus the scheduled number of train trips over time using a predetermined set of measuring points. We have included the scheduled and actual number of train trips as well as the service operated percentage. The data is for the period 01/04/22 – 26/02/2023. We endeavour to run a full service at all times, however this is not always possible due to a number of variables. Please see the following notes to accompany the Excel document:
Service operated compares the actual number of train trips versus the scheduled number of train trips over time using a predetermined set of measuring points.
The schedule is based on the current working timetables, and includes adjustments for planned closures, weekend engineering works, and timetable notices.
Example
Scheduled number of train trips for the day = 100
Actual number of train trips for the day = 90
% of service operated = 90%
The following measuring points are used to provide a proxy for overall performance on the Piccadilly line:
Piccadilly: Hammersmith (EB) and Caledonian Road (WB)
