As an avid user to the bus network, I have witnessed a sharp decline in service provision. 1. What is the PVR reduction, network wide from 2019 to 2023? 2. How much road space has been reduced on red routes? 3. How many LTNs, School streets have TfL raised objections to? 4. What is EWT performance, network wide each year from 2019 to 2023? 5. How many bus routes have been relinquished or extended, detail each route. 6.what revenue has TfL made from bus users, each year from 2019 to 2023? 7.what is the percentage of complete journeys, network wide, each year from 2019 to 2023. 8. How much (percentage) are TfL buses, understaffed? Individual to each job role? 9. How succesful was the CentreComm reshuffle?

Thank you for your request which we received on 20 November 2023, asking for information about buses.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You specifically asked:

1. What is the PVR reduction, network wide from 2019 to 2023?

The peak vehicle requirement (PVR) networkwide reduction between 31/3/2019 and 31/3/2023 was 486 (from 7913 to 7427).

2. How much road space has been reduced on red routes?

We don’t hold this information.

3. How many LTNs, School streets have TfL raised objections to?

To the best of our knowledge, we haven’t objected to any Lower Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) or school streets which are on the borough road network.

4. What is EWT performance, network wide each year from 2019 to 2023?

Please find the excess waiting time (EWT) performance in the attached spreadsheet.

5. How many bus routes have been relinquished or extended, detail each route.

Please find this information in the attached service changes spreadsheet.

6.what revenue has TfL made from bus users, each year from 2019 to 2023?

8. How much (percentage) are TfL buses, understaffed? Individual to each job role?

Bus drivers are employed by the various bus operating companies and whilst we may hold some information on their staff resources, this is managed by the individual operators, and you would have to contact them for a full response.   

9. How successful was the CentreComm reshuffle?

The NMCC always aims to provides a valuable 24/7 service to customers by monitoring, responding, mitigating and recovering from planned or unplanned disruptions on the network.
