I would like to know how the new bike lanes around Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London (Westminster Bridge Road, south east side) and on the A3036 (travelling north) have been planned.
The new system is extremely confusing for cars and bicycles with multiple sets of lights and lanes that criss-cross each making it extremely dangerous in places for cyclists.
Was there any consultation with cycling experts or road flow planners?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9 January 2018 asking for information about cycle lanes in Westminster Bridge.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

The designs for the Westminster Bridge South scheme were subject to a thorough design process, including collaboration with modal specialists for cycling, walking and motorists, as well as input from external organisations representing different road user groups. The scheme has also been reviewed via the road safety audit and will continue to be monitored going forward.
The total final cost for the scheme is expected to be £7million.
