Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 8th March 2022 asking for information about the Congestion Charge zone.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Could you please provide the statistics of the total number electric vehicles that paid for a congestion charge with auto pay without a discount being applied for the vehicle being exempt between 1 October 2021 and 31 February 2022.”
I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information. Our network of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras - which monitor vehicles entering the zone - automatically link to information about vehicles which are registered as exempt or subject to a discount. We do not record the fuel type of vehicles entering the zone for the purposes of managing our schemes, and therefore cannot identify whether electric vehicles have been charged.
