TfL Ref: 2791-2425
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 29 November 2024 asking for information about heritage buses.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You specifically asked: Can TfL confirm whether it assumed authority to ban some newer heritage buses from running during two North London Bus running days held in London on two November Sundays this year?
Tfl did not ban the use of any vehicles. The organisers came to us with a list of vehicles they would like to use on the heritage days. Some historic vehicles are already ULEZ exempt - please see Discounts and exemptions - Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk). However there are later buses which are non ULEZ/LEZ diesel vehicles. These vehicles are not prevented from running however they would be subject to the ULEZ/LEZ charge.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
