Hi there, Please provide the following information relating to ULEZ in Brent: • The total emissions measured in the area prior to the 25th October 2021 ULEZ implementation in Brent • Total emissions measured in the area south of the north circular, ie: the area of Brent within the ULEZ zone, since ULEZ implementation on 25th October 2021 until the date of this FOI. • The Percentage total of CO2, nitrogen dioxide and other emissions within the extended Brent ULEZ zone since implementation and to this date, and how these compare to the Mayor’s emission targets for the ULEZ inclusion zones • Estimated total number of additional cars, motorcycles, and vans that don’t meet the minimum emissions standards are anticipated to fall within the £12.50 daily charge when the ULEZ expands to include the entirety of Brent from 29 August 2023? Include number for each vehicle type, and the total. • How much is this anticipated number of vehicles anticipated to equate to in terms of per annum ULEZ charges from 29 August 2023, and per day charges? • Estimated daily number of cars, motorcycles, and vans that don’t meet the minimum emissions standards anticipated to fall within the £12.50 daily charge when the ULEZ expands to include the entirety of Brent from 29 August 2023. Give breakdown of each vehicle type and total. • How many of these vehicles are anticipated to fall within the ULEZ inclusion zone after 29 August 2023 will be owned by Londoners in jobs paying less than the London living wage? • How many of these vehicles are anticipated to fall within the ULEZ inclusion zone after 29 August 2023 will be owned by Londoners who were encouraged to switch to diesel by tax breaks introduced by the Labour government in 2001? • How many residents in Brent residents benefitted from the London mayor Sadiq Khan’s February 2019 announcement of £25m set aside to help low-paid Londoners switch to cleaner vehicles come 2021? Thank you for your request received by us on 21 January 2023 asking for information about the ULEZ scheme in Brent and emissions in the borough.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. You asked for:

information relating to ULEZ in Brent:
 
  • The total emissions measured in the area prior to the 25th October 2021 ULEZ implementation in Brent
 
  • Total emissions measured in the area south of the north circular, ie: the area of Brent within the ULEZ zone, since ULEZ implementation on 25th October 2021 until the date of this FOI.

TfL do not hold air quality monitoring data directly. However, air quality data across London’s borough’s, including Brent  is publicly available on the to London Air Quality Network website here: https://www.londonair.org.uk/LondonAir/Default.aspx
