Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on16 October 2023 asking for information about Direct Vision Standard (DVS) permits.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold the information you require. Please see the requested data attached. The information provided is from scheme start on 1 March 2021 to 9 November 2023.
With the support of London Councils, the DVS forms part of the Mayor of London's Vision Zero plan to eliminate all death and serious injuries from London's streets by 2041.
The vital lorry safety scheme is now operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is enforced on all roads in London, with standards set to tighten further in 2024.
All owners of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) over 12 tonnes now need a valid permit to operate in London. Those without a permit face a new penalty charge notice (PCN) of up to £550.
