TfL Ref: 2454-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 26 December 2022 asking for information about the London Overground network. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:
the dates of all Engineering works that effected travel between Edmonton Green & Liverpool Street during 2022 on the London Overground railway line.
From the 01/01/2022 through to 31/12/2022 and any proposed engineering works effecting Edmonton Green in 2023.
Please see the following dates for the engineering works which have taken place on this part of the network:
9 – 13 and 23 – 27 January.
5 and 20 – 24 February.
6 and 8 – 10, March.
17 - 21, April.
29 – 31 May.
1 - 2 June; a continuation of the late May closure).
I would also like to know what days were effected by Strike action on the same line for all of 2022 and proposed for 2023.
Please see the following dates for when trade union strikes by the RMT and ASLEF occurred in 2022:
21 June – Reduced service.
22 June - No strike, but late start/early finish due to strikes on the days before and after.

4 January – Reduced service.
6 January – Reduced service.
Please also note that no additional strikes by ASLEF are expected in 2023 because London Overground’s franchise operator Arriva Rail London and the union have reached an agreement in this regard.
However, if more strikes by RMT’s signalling staff were to occur in 2023, this would result in reduced service throughout the London Overground network as has occurred above in 2022.
Lastly I’d like to know when escalator works began at seven sisters station and when there are scheduled to end from 2022 to 2023.
We can advise that when Escalator Five at Seven Sisters failed on 21 September 2022, the right hand vane unit sprocket broke free from its mechanical unit, causing substantial damage to steel work, as well as several escalator steps, plus a section of the step chain and the complete vane unit itself. Escalator works began on 21 September 2022 and were completed by 22 December 2022.
