1) Details of accidents on Commercial Road close to the junction with Pitsea Street between January 2019 - December 2021.
2) Details of the timing of the bus lane being in force between January 2019 - December 2021, including changes to road signage.
Please provide the date for each accident and collision and the location on Commercial Road.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20th January 2022 asking for information about road traffic collisions on Commercial Road, E1.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Under the Freedom of Information Act, we write to request:
1) Details of accidents on Commercial Road close to the junction with Pitsea Street between January 2019 - December 2021.
2) Details of the timing of the bus lane being in force between January 2019 - December 2021, including changes to road signage.
Please provide the date for each accident and collision and the location on Commercial Road.”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
In answer to question 1 please see the first attachment. This provides the requested information for an area approximately 50m around the junction. Data is provided to the end of September 2021 which is the latest processed data we have on our system. We will not have full 2021 data until around April / May of this year. All 2021 records are currently provisional and subject to change.

In answer to question 2, please see the second and third attachments. The times the bus lane on Commercial Road was in operation between January 2019 and 12th September 2020 is shown in Schedule 1 of the second attachment. The time of operation was extended to ‘Monday to Sunday, At All Times’ on 13th September 2020 – in line with the Order in the third attachment.
