Our Ref:         FOI-2268-2324

Thank you for your request received on 29 September 2023 asking for information about the rebranding of Bond Street to ‘Burberry Street’.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

•           Whether TfL or its subsidiaries received any financial or non-financial remuneration for the rebrand
•           What financial or non-financial remuneration that TfL or its subsidiaries received if so

TfL received £200k net of costs from Burberry for this activation. In addition to this, Burberry covered all printing and production costs. Full details of this agreement can be found at the following link: https://content.tfl.gov.uk/burberry-station-contract-acc.pdf.

•           Whether an equality impact assessment took place before Bond Street was rebranded as “Burberry Street”
•           A copy of the equality impact assessment if one took place

An answer to this was issued in response to a recent, similar FOI request which can be seen here:

https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-2110-2324

•           A copy of any correspondence (including, but not limited to, emails, letters and invitations) between commercial partnerships head Harriet McDonald and Burberry representatives, from the dates between 1 Jan 2023 and 29 Sept 2023

I can confirm that there was no correspondence between Harriet McDonald and representatives from Burberry.

•           The number of complaints received by TfL regarding the “Burberry Street” rebrand between 14 Sept 2023 and 29 Sept 2023

There were 62 complaints received by our Customer Contact Centre between 14-29 September. In addition we received 18 FOI requests on this topic during the same period.
