Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 26th September 2023 asking for information about incidents on Walworth Road/ Elephant and Castle A3 junction to London Bridge.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I would like to request information on buses and cyclists near misses, accidents and incidents reported between buses and cycllists on Walworth Road, Elephant and Castle junction and the road (A3) to London for the year of 2022.”
I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.
During the period from 1st January 2022 to 31st December 2022 TfL has a record of three collisions between pedal cyclists and a Bus/Coach on that section of the road network. More details are provided in the attached report. This data is recorded by the police, or self-reported online, using Department for Transport guidance. The records we hold are for collisions involving personal injury only. We do not receive details of damage-only collisions or near misses.
