You asked
Hi all,
Please may you provide the times during which the Mid-Tunnel Vent Shaft on the intersection of Tynemouth Road and Antill Road in Tottenham Hale (Victoria Line) has been in operation over the past year (since 1st Dec 2021)?
I would like to see a breakdown of when the fans have been switched on and operational, e.g 10am-01am, per day.
Many thanks

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1st December 2022 asking for information about the Tynemouth Road/Antill Road mid-tunnel ventilation shaft.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:

The Mid-Tunnel Vent Shaft at this location is scheduled for 24 hour operation. There may potentially be instances when the fans are not operational due to a fault. We do not have records of every such instance. The fan can also be turned off for maintenance. This last happened overnight on 19 / 20 October 2022 for cleaning. We do not have a record of the fan being turned off at any other time during the last year (the time previous to this was in April/May 2021 when it was turned off for 3 weeks) but it has at times operated at a reduced speed.
Mid-tunnel ventilation shafts across the Tube network perform a vital function in managing the temperatures in tunnels and station public areas, moving air in and out of the system. Anyone with a concern about a shaft (in relation to noise, for example) can get in touch with the TfL Contact Centre on 0343 222 1234 or at https://tfl.gov.uk/help-and-contact/contact-us-about-tube-and-rail.
