Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
However, it is being withheld under section 22 of the FOI Act. Section 22 provides an exemption to the release of information where it is due for publication at some future date and where, in all the circumstances of the case, it is reasonable to withhold it until publication. In this instance, we intend to publish a monitoring report covering the road safety position on the TfL website before the end of the year. The use of this exemption is subject to an assessment of the public interest in relation to the disclosure of the information concerned. We recognise the need for openness and transparency by public authorities and the particular public interest in disclosure of this information. However in this instance, it is considered that the public interest favours the publication of this information, in context and according to the pre-determined schedule, rather than in response to your request, to ensure the information is provided accurately and in an accessible manner. You can also access road safety data using the Road Danger Reduction Dashboard, on page 4, which provides the ability to filter collision data by location, date and time and more. Can you release any before and after assessment of bus speeds? Please find attached the bus speed data for all routes along this corridor. The data provided covers periods 15/03/2019 - 28/04/23 and 7/4/2023 – 6/10/2023. Weighted bus customer journey time (JT) is the overall metric used by TfL to monitor performance. It includes wait time, in-vehicle time, interchange, crowding and buffer time, and is weighted by customer demand and the financial value of the customer’s time to measure the overall experience. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
