TfL Ref: 2114-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13 December 2021 asking for information about the cost to install social distancing signs on the London Underground.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold some of the information you require. You asked: I would like to ask for the costing for installation of the social distancing stickers on the entire tube train network. I would also like the total cost for the entire network including stations. Can you tell me the time taken to install the entire operation.
We have answered a similar request for information in October 2020 which can be reviewed at the following link to our published FOI responses on our website: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transparency/freedom-of-information/foi-request-detail?referenceId=FOI-1177-2021. We have not installed any new signs since then. Please note that we do not hold the information for Tram, Docklands Light Railway and London Overground as we provided the artwork to the operators who will have then managed any updates if required.
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
With regard to the time taken to install the stickers, we do not hold this information because, due to the pandemic, the stickers were produced and installed quickly across the network and this task was carried out by various different staff groups. The time taken to install them was never collated.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
