TfL Ref: FOI-1969-1617
Thank you for your email received by us on 12 January 2017 asking for information about the lifts at Green Park Station.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm we do hold some of the information you requested. You asked:
Could you please state the cost of installing each of the lifts in Green Park station and provide a breakdown of each figure?
The cost of installing lifts to provide step-free access at Green Park station from ticket hall level to the Victoria line platforms and the interchange routes to the Piccadilly and Jubilee lines was £1.8m. This project included three lifts (Lifts 4, 5 and 6) and the cost per lift is not recorded.
These lifts were installed as part of a wider programme of works which included, for example, escalator refurbishment, a large street level canopy and a new ramp put into the park which was delivered for a total cost of £48.8m.
Please note that this was an Olympics deliverable scheme, as required by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
The lifts were delivered into service in summer 2011, ahead of schedule, and the full project was completed in spring 2012 in time for the Olympics.
For further information, Lifts 1&2 were installed by the Jubilee Line Extension (JLE) project and provide accessible interchange between the Jubilee and Piccadilly lines. No work was done to them as part of the scheme described above. Lift 3 is in an emergency escape shaft also installed as part of the JLE scope.
