FOI request detail

vehicle licensing requirements

Request ID: FOI-1828-2425
Date published: 22 October 2024

You asked

The number of private hire drivers who have left TfL since new strict vehicle licensing requirements set by TFL. As such many drivers are working in London but have licensed with councils who are more relaxed with vehicle licensing requirements . If possible, please break this data down by year, and provide any relevant context around the reasons for the departures, if available. I would prefer to receive this information electronically. CLARIFICATION: Thank you for your email my query is related to TfL private hire drivers not renewing their licenses .It seems TFL is not really concerned of the issue since their strict vehicle licensing requirements forcing drivers to license with other councils in order to work in London .
