TfL Ref: FOI-1453-2425
Thank you for your request which we received on 5 August 2024, asking for evidence that Ewell Road where your car was photographed, is signed as in the ULEZ Zone.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The ULEZ zone operates across all London boroughs and the City of London. The M25 is not in the zone.
The area covered by the ULEZ is clearly signposted with advance information signs on major roads, indicating the distance to the boundary to allow the option of avoiding the zone. There is also signage on the approach to the boundary, directional signs show which routes lead into the ULEZ and which do not. Signs are at every boundary point advising when a driver is entering the zone and there are also signs within the zone to remind them that there are cameras operating.
We then allow up to three days after the day of travel into the zones to make the payment which we believe is a reasonable amount of time. It is the responsibility of every driver to ensure they check if they have been in the zone to avoid being issued a PCN.
On the online map provided on our website (https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/ulez-where-and-when#on-this-page-0) you can see that the entirety of Ewell Road is in the ULEZ. The same is true of Walpole Road. Lovelace Road is not.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright.
Yours sincerely
