I would like to request an FOI on the number of TFL Licenced Private Hire Drivers that are licenced to work using a European Driving Licence as opposed to a UK Driving Licence.
Out of that figure how many private hire drivers are on restrictions until you receive evidence of a full UK Driving Licence .

Thank you for your email received on 9 August asking for information regarding licensed taxi and private hire drivers.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:
“the number of TFL Licenced Private Hire Drivers that are licenced to work using a European Driving Licence as opposed to a UK Driving Licence.
Out of that figure how many private hire drivers are on restrictions until you receive evidence of a full UK Driving Licence.”
The information you have requested is provided in the table below. Please note that we do not licence taxi and private hire drivers unless they hold a full UK or other EEA state driving licence that is at least three years old.
Please note that restrictions are not placed on licensees as we do not licence private hire drivers unless they hold a full UK or EEA state driving licence that is at least three years old.
