I would like to be provided with the following information regarding passenger journeys on public transport: Please could you share the number of passenger journeys on public transport in the UK per calendar years 2016 up to and including 2020.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 8th September 2021 asking for information about passenger journeys on public transport.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

“I would like to be provided with the following information regarding passenger journeys on public transport:

Please could you share the number of passenger journeys on public transport in the UK per calendar years 2016 up to and including 2020.”

TfL does not hold the requested information as we are responsible for certain transport modes in London only rather than the whole of the UK. That said, note that we proactively publish data about journeys on our services in London which may nevertheless be of interest to you. The following areas of the TfL and GLA websites refer:
