BTEC Level 2 Certificate for Taxi and PHV drivers
Request ID: FOI-1154-1920
Date published: 06 August 2019
You asked
Please can you kindly supply me with the following information
In 2018, how many taxi drivers did TFL licence using the BTEC Level 2 certificate in introduction to the role of the professional taxi and private hire driver (as in supplied to you during their applications)
Can you also provide me with the same figures for 2017…..? Might you send me this information by e mail….
I do hope there won’t be any kind of cost issue but if so can you possibly advise me how you might be able to supply me with this information without going over the cost limit which I read about when researching how to do an FOI enquiry.
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-1154-1920
Thank you for your email of 19th July 2019 asking for information about the licensing of taxi and private hire vehicle drivers.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“In 2018, how many taxi drivers did TFL licence using the BTEC Level 2 certificate in introduction to the role of the professional taxi and private hire driver (as in supplied to you during their applications)
Can you also provide me with the same figures for 2017?”.
TfL does not hold the requested information. The BTEC Level 2 Certificate ‘Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver’ does not form part of our licensing requirements. Note that full details of the licensing requirements in London can be found on our website at the following locations:
