The red route is designed as a No Stopping network. To encourage drivers to observe the rules and regulations of the road, contributing to keeping traffic moving in London, we issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to enforce illegal parking and stopping on our network. Signs and road markings along the red routes tell a driver what they can and can't do. Information about the different types of bays on our road network is available in the Rules of Red Route pages on our website.

There are two parking bays at the location in question:

  • 1452–1456 London Road (A23) is a Parking & Disabled Persons Vehicles. The restriction in place is: ‘No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am - 7pm Except 10am-4pm parking 30 mins No return within 1 hour’.

  • 1456–1462 London Road (A23) is a Loading and Unloading Only. The restriction in place is: ‘No Stopping Mon-Sat 7am - 7pm Except 10am-4pm loading max 20 mins’.

The below tables show how many PCNs we issued for stopping when prohibited at each location between 1 July 2018 and 29 June 2019, how many PCNs have been paid and how many remain open. The tables also show how many representations were received and accepted and how many appeals were made and allowed.
