Thank you again for your request received by us on 3 July 2023, asking for information about an escalator at Hyde Park Corner Underground station.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You specifically asked:

 
  1. Do I have any recourse against TFL ?
We offer comprehensive help and support to people involved in, or affected by, a serious incident on the TfL network via The Sarah Hope Line. You should contact them in the first place, via https://tfl.gov.uk/campaign/incident-support-service.

          2. Can I have a copy of the report of the incident. (My full details were taken by your staff)

This part of your request relates to yourself and therefore constitutes your personal data. It’s being processed separately in line with the Data Protection Legislation and you should receive a response in due course.  

           3. The rate the escalator would have been travelling.
           4. The length (height) and pitch of the escalator.

Our records show that escalators 1 & 3 at Hyde Park Corner station travel at 0.75 m/s, have a vertical rise of 21.79 m and are inclined at 30 degrees. These parameters are in keeping with the European Standard for Escalators, EN115.
