FOI request detail

Data on traffic accidents involving people working for Uber or UberEats or Deliveroo

Request ID: FOI-0793-1718
Date published: 19 July 2017

You asked

Dear TfL Please can you supply me with a time-series for the past 5 years of traffic accidents which involved drivers/cyclists with Uber, UberEats or Deliveroo? If this is too difficult/expensive, please narrow the request to a shorter time period.

We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-0793-1718

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 30 June 2017 asking for information about road traffic accidents.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

I can confirm we do not hold the information you require.

We do not have any record of collisions split by individual companies and so are unable to provide the breakdown you have requested. Collision data more generally can be found at the following link: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/safety-and-security/road-safety/london-collision?intcmp=33888

At the end of 2016 the Metropolitan Police Service implemented the Case Overview and Preparation Application system.  This allows the reporting of personal injury collisions involving taxis and private hire vehicles to be shown as two separate categories from 2017 onwards.

Road safety figures for the first quarter of 2017, including a breakdown of collisions involving taxis and private hire vehicles, are currently being fully verified and will be published later in the summer at: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/road-safety

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
