There will be road closures and crowds along the route of London's New Year's Day Parade.

Cycling

Some Santander Cycles docking stations will be out of service until 18:00 today.

Taxi and Private Hire

Until 06:00 on Thursday 2 January:

  • Black cabs will charge an extra £4 per journey
  • There may be an extra charge for private hire vehicles (including minicabs) - check when you book

Driving and paying to drive

  • The Congestion Charge does not operate today - you don't need to pay
  • You may have to pay the ULEZ or LEZ if your vehicle doesn't meet emissions standards
  • There are closures and diversions for planned works and events
  • Check our traffic status updates before you travel

National Rail

Liverpool Street National Rail station

  • Liverpool Street Tube station will operate as normal
  • Liverpool Street National Rail station is closed until Thursday 2 January
  • National Rail, London Overground and some Elizabeth line services will not run to/from Liverpool Street National Rail station today

Other National Rail services

  • There are changes and engineering works on National Rail services over Christmas and New Year
