We answered
Dear
Our ref: FOI-4993-1718
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 March 2018.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
- How many Licenced 'black' Taxis are currently registered with TfL?
There are currently 21,382 taxis licensed by TfL.
- How many of the above are Electric or Hybrid?
There are currently 71 zero emission capable taxis licensed by TfL.
- How many meet the Euro 4 petrol standard?
- How many meet Euro 6 diesel standard?
We do not hold this information at present. The emissions standard of every taxi is confirmed as part of the vehicle inspection process. This involves checking the V5C (log book) but is not currently recorded. As part of a review of our vehicle licensing process we are looking to record the European Emission Standards of both taxis and private hire vehicles making reporting possible.
- How many are over 12 years old?
There are 4,924 that are at least 12 years old.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
