The reason I am asking you this is because someone told us that private hire licences are usually issued every three years and I just wanted to make sure if this was the case for your council as well?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7 March 2018 asking for information about private hire drivers.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Out of the 89 drivers in 2016, how many of them were the same drivers who were given private hire licences in 2015 and out of the 44 in 2017 how many of them were the same drivers who were given licences in 2015 2016?

The reason I am asking you this is because someone told us that private hire licences are usually issued every three years and I just wanted to make sure if this was the case for your council as well?

Unless extraordinary circumstances, all licences are for three years. Thus a licence issued in 2017 would not correlate to a licence issued in 15/16. To confirm, we can only report on current address and current licences.
