Request ID: FOI-4770-2324 Date published: 16 April 2024
You asked
Could you please advise why there has been a long term delay to the conversion of route 151 from diesel to electric buses? I understand that the Worcester Park stand is not suitable for EV buses stand. Could you please confirm this is accurate and is so what TfL is doing to ensure conversion will happen as soon as possible? When does TfL expect the route to convert to EV?
We answered
Our ref: FOI-4770-2324/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25 March 2024 asking for information about EV conversion of route 151.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
The bus operators preferred model of a double deck electric bus is not suitable for operation on this route. The associated vehicles are currently being used elsewhere on the London Bus Network. Alternative operations for the future operation of Route 151 by electric buses are still being considered, but it is hoped that the route will be able to convert to electric operation within the next 12 months.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
