Request ID: FOI-4759-2324 Date published: 09 April 2024
You asked
Follow-up to IRV-228-2324: Thank you for your reply, however if your records are showing the vehicle as ‘non-compliant’ and the DVLA changes that then your statement is incorrect. Vehicle records can be updated by the DVLA for lots of reasons and this is reflected in our update but will not be from non-compliant to compliant.
I therefore ask you for the number of vehicles records updated by the DVLA.
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-4759-2324
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22nd March 2024 asking for information about vehicle records updated by the DVLA. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked the following, further to case reference FOI-4087-2324 and the subsequent Internal Review:
“Thank you for your reply, however if your records are showing the vehicle as ‘non-compliant’ and the DVLA changes that then your statement is incorrect. Vehicle records can be updated by the DVLA for lots of reasons and this is reflected in our update but will not be from non-compliant to compliant.
I therefore ask you for the number of vehicles records updated by the DVLA.”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The table below details the number of vehicle records updated per month due to a change in DVLA data since the expansion of the ULEZ scheme. As explained previously, it does not necessarily mean that the compliance status of those vehicles has changed – for example, a registration plate could be transferred from one compliant to another compliant vehicle.
