Thank you for your request received on 2 March 2018 asking for information about one day Travelcards.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

1. How many one-day travel-cards are sold each day?

Over the last 12 months:
• TfL sold 16.7 thousand Day Travelcards on average per day
• Train Operating Companies sold 73.7 thousand Day Travelcards on average per day

2. What is the average number of journeys an individual takes whilst using this one-day travel-card?

The number of journeys made depends on the type of Day Travelcard and where it was bought:
• A Day Travelcard bought from TfL outlets is used on average for 0.3 bus trips, 3 Underground trips and 0.2 National Rail trips.
• A Day Travelcard bought from a Train Operating Company is used on average for 0.3 bus trips, 2 Underground trips and 2 National Rail trips.
