Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 20th March 2024 asking for information about the average salary of a Q3 grade at TfL.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

“What is the average salary for a Q3 grade?”.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

The average salary for a Q3 grade is £63,214. Note that this includes a number of different roles, as follows:
  • OMQ3 - TfL's Main LU Operational Manager Q3 grade
  • Q003 - Operational Managers  - No longer used for new entrants
  • QX03 - Signal Employees Only  - No longer used for new entrants
  • TL_Q003 - Tube Line's Operational Manager Q3 Grade - No longer used for new entrants
  • TL_Q003N - Tube Line's Operational Manager Q3 Grade - No longer used for new entrants 
The figure cited above is the Full Time Equivalent salary and does not include Higher Duty Pay or allowances.
