TfL Ref: 4676-2324

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 March 2024 asking for information about Elizabeth line, Piccadilly line and Heathrow Express delays on 26 February 2024.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
Can you please share with me the following data about the Elizabeth, Piccadilly & Heathrow express line delays 26/02/24 - between 11:00 - 17:00. All westbound trains to Heathrow (T2-3).

Elizabeth line- - between Whitechapel and Heathrow
Piccadilly line - between Holborn and Heathrow
Heathrow express - between Paddington & Heathrow.

Can you please include data regarding the causes of delays to all these lines and the severe delay timetable / adjusted time frame estimated to travel between these stations.

Please see the attached data for the Elizabeth line and Piccadilly line respectively.

For the Elizabeth line, please note that the incidents affected the services included:

  • Tree on the Overhead lines between Slough and Maidenhead. This stopped all power to the overhead lines (and therefore all trains) for a number of minutes.

  • Litter was trapped in the train doors at Bond Street. This stopped the doors from closing and therefore the train could not move until resolved.
  • Report of a trespasser at Southall

  • Report of vegetation blocking the sight at Acton Main line.

For the Piccadilly line, we included incidents and service status messages that took place on that day 11:00-17:00. The only thing we cannot answer is the “severe delay timetable / adjusted time frame estimated to travel between these stations” question - we don’t have a vetted method for estimating adjusted travel times, so that isn’t data we hold.

We do not hold the Heathrow Express (HEX) data as we do not operate that service. Please contact them direct at: https://www.heathrowexpress.com/about-us/contact-us#/

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
