Thank you for your request received on 22 February 2018 asking for information about penalty charge notices (PCNs) issued on West Hill.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.

Information about our CCTV camera enforcement system is published on our website at https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/red-routes. We operate a network of more than 900 CCTV enforcement cameras across the red route network. Our cameras can be used to enforce any type of traffic contravention including parking, bus lane and moving traffic restrictions. We issue and record PCNs in accordance with the contravention type and location rather than by the camera which observed the contravention. As such, we do not hold the information you are requesting.

However, we do enforce the yellow box junction on West Hill outside the Fire Station by issuing PCNs to vehicles entering the box without the exit being clear. I can confirm that 914 PCNs were issued in December 2017 and 853 PCNs were issued in January 2018; a total of 1767.

In 2017 we issued 18,543 penalties which have to date generated £1,209,084.72 in revenue. Please be advised that the amount received is in respect of PCNs settled; outstanding amounts are not included in this total.
