1. The estimated total number of acres of land that you own.
2. The estimated total number of acres that you own which are not in operational use.
3. The annual spending on managing and maintaining your property estate in the financial year 2022/23. Please provide a breakdown.
4. The number of golf courses you currently own.
5. The number of farms you currently own.
6. The number of commercial buildings you own. If possible please provide a breakdown by category - such as shops, offices, restaurants, pubs, hotels.
7. The number of empty homes you currently own.
8. The number of empty buildings you currently own that are not homes.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7 March 2024 asking for information about TfL’s property assets.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
The estimated total number of acres of land that you own.
6156 Acres (TfL land)
The estimated total number of acres that you own which are not in operational use.
358 Acres (Places for London registered interests)
The annual spending on managing and maintaining your property estate in the financial year 2022/23. Please provide a breakdown.
In the financial year 2022/23 maintenance spend was £4.5m, c90% of which is through our FM provider Vinci Further to the above, our Capital Investment spend was £12m this financial year - £9.4m attributable to Retail.
The number of golf courses you currently own.

6. The number of commercial buildings you own. If possible please provide a breakdown by category - such as shops, offices, restaurants, pubs, hotels. Excluding land, car parks, development sites, which are not buildings, and excluding head office buildings which are not commercial the breakdown by Unit Use Class is:
2395 commercial units:
Arches: 803 units
Bus Garages: 14 units
Industrial: 32 units
Office: 175 units
Residential: 180 units
Retail: 1191 units
Restaurants, pubs, hotels are included in Retail. We do not have a separate category.
7. The number of empty homes you currently own. We currently have 98 vacant residential units (one unit / flat is considered one ‘home’). (We can market only 13 of those, the rest being projects (i.e. require substantial capital investment), or part of larger development schemes).
8. The number of empty buildings you currently own that are not homes. We understand ‘empty buildings, not homes’ to mean only Office, Retail, and Arches. The following shows units, not properties:
Arch units: 208
Office units: 89
Retail units: 316
A number of these sites are either in the process of being relet or undergoing improvement work ahead of being put back out to the market.
