You asked
Dear to whom it may concern
I'm a PhD student researching in the field of public transport
I’d like to include London in the research, so I need some data. It is important that the data is available for a period of some years, ideally from 2000 until today.
I’m interested in the following data:
• The collection of the data that already exists for London - Bus lanes (total length in each year)
• Some missing data on fares (see attached my collected data)
• Length of road lanes dedicated to trams, including tram-only streets. (total length in each year)
• Average speed of trams in each year
Is it possible to receive at least the data on bus lanes? I imagine it should not take a lot of time since the database already exists.

I already checked all available reports, publications and requests beforehand.
Clarification received 14/03/2024: I received the fare data from some other source. So now I’m interested only in the following data:
• The collection of the data that already exists for London - Bus lanes (total length in each year)
• Length of road lanes dedicated to trams, including tram-only streets. (total length in each year)
• Average speed of trams in each year
It is important that the data is available for a period of some years, ideally from 2000 until today.

In regard to your second question, the entire London tram network is 27.55km. Shared and tram-only road space is 3.739km. These figures have not altered across the years since the tram network opened in the year 2000.
In answer to your third question, we do not hold the data for each year of operation. However, the current average speed is 22.18kph (with a maximum speed limit of 70kph). Prior to the Sandilands incident in 2016 the average speed was 24.21kph (with a maximum speed limit of 80kph).
