Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2nd March 2024 asking for information about electronic display screens for taxis and private hire vehicles.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Approved electronic display screens for taxis and PHVs: Requesting list of TfL Vehicle Policy Team approved (1) electronic display screen solutions for taxis and (2) aftermarket electronic devices (including "Additional Equipment/Modifications" approvals) for private hire vehicles”.
There are currently no approved manufacturers providing electronic display screen advertising solutions for taxis.
Any aftermarket modifications or installation of additional features to a licensed private hire vehicle must gain prior approval from Transport for London. Our approval process is published on our website. However, we do not hold a list of approved aftermarket equipment for private hire vehicles.
