Thank you for your request received on 24 January 2018 asking for information about injuries incurred at London Underground stations and on trains.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

There were 3,867 total passenger injuries reported on London Underground between 1 January 2017 and 31 December 2017. This is equates to 2.84 injuries per million journeys across our network. Injuries to passengers on trains during the same period was 176 injuries, equivalent to 0.13 injuries per million journeys. The attached spreadsheet provides the full list of passenger injuries by station and by line.

A customer accidental physical injury is defined by London Underground as a physical injury or harm sustained by a member of the public when on London Underground Infrastructure. It includes customers, people using rights of way, trespassers, tenants and off-duty employees. Accidental injuries are those caused by an accidental external event that caused the injury or harm i.e. this does not include accidents which result from medical issues or deliberate actions.
