Thank you for your request received on 24 January2018 asking for information about the Elizabeth Line roundels. I apologise for the delay in my response.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. We do hold the information you require. You asked:
 
I would like to see any documents and minutes that include reasoning that led to the decision to put "ELIZABETH LINE" on the Elizabeth Line roundels, in contrast to every other line, which would be "PICCADILLY" for the Piccadilly Line, etcetera.
 
The Elizabeth line is a new railway and is not another line on the London Underground, where the names of the individual lines are different to that of the individual lines name – i.e. the Victoria Line on the London Underground. This was discussed verbally and a set of visual images were developed to aid this discussion. Please find these attached.
