You asked

Follow-up to FOI-3241-2324: Dear FOI, Thank you for your reply. Firstly, please state how many hits come up for a search of the TFL email system – since April 2023 - for each of these search terms – separate number for each. “Julie map” “Juliemap” “Julie’s map” “Julie’s ULEZ map” “Julie ULEZ map” That will be five numbers. - Secondly, we may assume that TFL email addresses will be of the form [email protected] Many emails sent to or by external addresses will use either .co.uk or .com emails. Please run the five searches again using AND “.co.uk” in the TO or CC fields. Then again for the five searches using AND “.com” in the TO or CC fields. Then please provide the number of search hits in each case. That will be ten numbers. - Then it should be that a later more focused search for content will be possible.

Thank you for your further request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 14th February 2024.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked the following, further to request FOI-3241-2324:

Firstly, please state how many hits come up for a search of the TFL email system – since April 2023 - for each of these search terms – separate number for each.

“Julie map”
“Juliemap”
“Julie’s map”
“Julie’s ULEZ map”
“Julie ULEZ map”

That will be five numbers.

Secondly, we may assume that TFL email addresses will be of the form [email protected]

Many emails sent to or by external addresses will use either .co.uk or .com emails.

Please run the five searches again using AND “.co.uk” in the TO or CC fields.

Then again for the five searches using AND “.com” in the TO or CC fields.

Then please provide the number of search hits in each case.

That will be ten numbers.

Then it should be that a later more focused search for content will be possible.”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

The requested information is shown in the table below. Note that the search function cannot differentiate between searches with and without an apostrophe and so those results are identical. It is also worth noting that these results will include duplicates of the same email, as the same email may be found across multiple mailboxes. The results simply show emails in which the listed terms feature. This does not mean that the search term was necessarily the principal subject of the email. As you can see, there are almost 2000 emails in total that were sent to email addresses with a .co.uk or .com ending. To manually review all of these to check their exact purpose and to consider what exemptions might apply would remain a disproportionately excessive task.
