You asked
Hi! I am wondering what the Street Type Classification (with regards to the TfL Place / Movement matrix) is for the stretches of road directly on top of Tower Bridge (A200), London Bridge (A3) and Blackfriars Bridge (A102). I have had a go at classifying based on the available information but just wanted to confirm this.
Thank you
We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-4169-2324
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on13 February 2024 asking for information about Street Type Classifications.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Under the Street Types matrix developed in 2015, London Bridge and Tower Bridge were classified as Place3/Movement3, and Blackfriar Bridge as Movement3/Place1.
Please note that the classification of London’s streets under the Street Type matrix was part of TfL’s response to the Road Task Force report (2012), which was superseded by the Mayor’s Transport Strategy in 2018. The Street Types classification of the streets network remained in draft form and were not finalised nor published. The analysis has not been updated since 2015 and is no longer in use.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
