Thank you for your request which we received on 8 February 2024, asking for information about a speed sign on the A20, at the slip road at Sidcup bypass, coming from Edgington Way.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
The section of the A20 Sidcup bypass, from Crittals Corner to the National Highways boundary, was changed from national speed limit to 40mph (this section was not previously 50mph). The changes were made over three nights from 26 September 2023, this includes the signage on the slip road from Edgington Way on to the A20, which were changed from national speed limit roundels to 40mph roundels. No enforcement action took place here until 19 December 2023.
